Deep St. John's Wort
Deep St. John's Wort
I called this color deep St. John's Wort because it was buried deep in my dye pot under layers of the plant. It also spent the longest amount of time in the dye pot. It has subtle color variation from where the plants touched the thread. Colors include olive, brass, and khaki.
Naturally dyed sashiko thread made by hand in Sonoma County, California. Honey Folk thread is hand-dyed from a combination of ethically sourced and sustainably wild harvested botanical materials such as flowers, herbs, weeds, fallen leaves, pruned branches, berries & such. This thread is a lovely choice for visible mending, boro stitching, sashiko, hand-embroidery, cross-stitch, tassels, pom-pons, gift wrapping, & more! Uneven coloring & gentle fading is just one of the magickal characteristics of botanical dyes.
